Life of a Beacon of Truth Ministries
1 Peter 2:9: you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, the Lord’s people, in case you may reveal the mighty acts of him who brought you out of darkness into his amazing light.
From Genesis 12 and the call of Abram on, the Lord has called God has called common people to handle tasks that are extraordinary. Generally, the Lord has chosen people to live in certain ways that others will cherish and if they are outside of a relationship with the Lord they might establish a relationship with him.
The people called by God have always been given the responsibility to proclaim the mighty acts of the Lord to bring in those who have been kept in bondage by sin and death to come out of darkness into the Lord’s marvelous light.
Seeing the truth ministries established by Jesus, they are the perfect recent example of people gathering to represent the Lord to the world. The ministries have been called to represent the love of the Lord as seen in Jesus to a world that, through sin, has been alienated from the Lord. Revealing truth ministries helps people when they forget their call, this avoids the risk of people devolving into a group that believes they are somehow exceptional and worthy in and of themselves to receive the good from God that others have received. This is why the thought leads the ministries into the role of judge and away from the Lord’s intended role that of a messenger.
Also, it is only by the grace of the Lord that we have been chosen to come out of darkness into his amazing light, we will continue to shine that same amazing light into the darkness that remains. The marvelous light we shine is the light of the Lord’s love in Jesus Christ, not our light, this is why we should continue to invite others who have been trapped by sin into that same light of the Lord’s love.

Our Lord of love and life reminds me every day of my tasks in his Kingdom to be the light that shines for my loved ones who are into the darkness of sin. God, help me not to judge others and equip me to reveal instead your mighty acts which have brought me away from darkness into your amazing light. AMEN.
